About Yosemite

  • Yosemite National Park is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
  • The South Entrance at Highway 41 is open year-round.
  • The Park entrance fee is valid for 7 days.
  • Unless you make other arrangements, you will drive your car into the Park.  Reservations are currently required to enter.**
  • Day use parking is free.
  • Visitors are encouraged to use the free shuttle bus system that runs to many areas of Yosemite's valley floor. (Shuttle currently not in service due to COVID-19)
  • Some roads within Yosemite, such as the Tioga Pass (Highway 120), and the Glacier Point and Mariposa Grove Roads, are open seasonally.

**New Park Procedure until October 31, 2020:  A day use park pass must be purchased online at www.recreation.gov. No passes may be purchased at the park entrances or visitor centers and no same day passes will be sold. A day use pass must be purchased even if you have an annual, senior or lifetime pass. A pass may be purchased two to thirty days in advance. The pass is good for 7 days and costs $2.
